Scholarships for CEn Students

Undergraduate students of the university can apply for several in-house and externally funded and sponsored scholarship programs. All qualified incoming freshmen can avail of these financial assistance. CEn is fortunate to be a member of an elite science and technology university consortium. Being one of the only two providers of agricultural engineering graduate degree program in the consortium, qualified students can avail of the scholarship and research grant of this prestigious human resources development program in the country today, the Engineering Research and Development for Technology.

The logo conveys the role of the consortium in the development of Engineering in the Philippines. The color composition resembles that of the Philippine national flag to promote the local engineering research and innovation. The hands along with the other symbols imply the strengthening partnership among the consortium members, affiliated agencies and different stakeholders in improving the quality of engineering research and education in the Philippines. The ERDT is created to deliver high impact researches aligned with the country’s National Science and Technology Plan (NSTP) and the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP), to attain a critical mass of MS and PhD graduates, to upgrade the qualifications of practicing engineers, and to develop a culture of Research and Development (R&D).
  1. Implement high-impact research agenda that are aligned with the development plans of the Philippines;
  2. Contribute in attaining a critical mass of graduates with master's and doctorate degrees;
  3. Upgrade the qualifications of practicing engineers;
  4. Upgrade the quality of engineering colleges and make engineering graduate education accessible; and
  5. Help in developing a culture of research and development (R&D) in the country.
The applicant must:
  1. Be a Filipino citizen
  2. NOT be more than 50 years old at the time of application
  3. Have passed the admission requirements of the graduate program supported by ERDT
  4. Have a BS/MS degree in engineering or related field
  5. Be in good health
  6. NOT have criminal/administrative case (NBI certification is required)
  7. Have cummulative grade point average of 85 or better
  8. Not have a failing grade

  • Certified True Copy of Grades/Transcript of Records
  • Recommendation letter from 3 past professors or supervisors
  • Narrative essays (Career plans)
  1. A narrative, not more than 1000 words, describing your current work or project (or research) that you worked on and your contribution towards the completion of the project.
  2. Future Plans (After Graduation)
  3. For PhD applicants, a narrative describing your intended research area
  • If employed, must be recommended by the head of agency and secure permission to take a leave of absence while on scholarship
  • Medical Certificate as to health status from a licensed physician indicating PRC License No.
  • Valid NBI Clearance
  • One passport size picture
The successful awardee must:
  1. Execute a Scholarship Agreement with DOST
  2. Officially enroll as full-time graduate student in any of the DOST priority fields/consortium member—university
  3. Submit periodic report of registration form and report of grades each semester/term which shall be evaluated to determine his/her scholarship status
  4. NOT avail or enjoy other scholarships
  5. Have a full-time commitment to the scholarship and must NOT engage in any form of employment during the period while enjoying the scholarship
  6. Be willing to render the required service obligation equiva- lent to the length of time that he/she enjoyed the scholar- ship—one year of service for every year of scholarship or a fraction thereof.
