Faculty members of the Department of Information Technology (DIT) visited the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) in San Fernando, La Union on January 20, 2023, to benchmark the College of Information Technology (CIT) of the said university. They were welcomed by the DMMMSU Chancellor Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, and CIT Dean Dr. Alvin R. Malicdem.
The Department of IT is continuously improving its existing level of practices in the conduct of instruction, research, and extension as it is in the process of applying to various national and international accreditation bodies such as CHED’s Center of Development (COD) and the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assessment (AUN-QA).
According to Dr. Khavee Agustus W. Botangen, who is the present DIT head, “benchmarking and learning from the best practices of others provides significant motivation for the department in its quest for excellence”.
The College of Information Technology of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University is one of the CODs for Information Technology Education in the country.
