OJT Monitoring Visit

The Department of Information Technology conducted an On-the-Job Training (OJT) monitoring visit yesterday to two companies in Baguio City. This visit was led by the OJT Coordinator, Assistant Professor Evelyn A. Villanueva, and her team members, Mr. Amir Ledesma, the apprentice OJT Coordinator, and Assistant Professor Maria Isabel M. Santos.
The first visit was to the Department of Information and Communications Technology – Cordillera Administrative Region (DICT CAR), where interns Gabriel Sioson, Neo Dolendo, and Maurene Manahan were deployed. The Chief of Technical Operations, Dr. Allan Lao, briefed the visiting faculties on the interns' activities, which included installing CCTV systems and access points and setting up network connectivity for the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair at Benguet State University and the ClickConex Convention. Additionally, the interns gained hands-on experience in systems development, working on projects such as the Inventory System for the GOVNET project.
Afterward, the faculties visited the Philippine Statistics Authority - RSSO CAR, where interns Justin Nichol Pasamonte and Faye Mae Talvo were assigned. They were welcomed by Mr. Juanito Y. Yabes, the Chief Statistical Specialist of CRASD, HR Supervisor Ms. Aimee C. Gumpal, and Mr. Reymarson P. Miclat, the sub-supervisor of the interns. The visiting faculties were told that the interns here are hard-working and dedicated, they are also engaged in interactive mapping of SDG indicators for the CAR using QGIS and developed a database for these indicators.
