International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2024
IRCITE 2024, held on March 8, 2024, at Wesleyan University - Philippines. Faculty Coaches: ( Marycris Manalang, Angelika Balagot, Ryan Bermoza, and Amir Ledesma
), and BSIT students attended the event and participated in competitions like Technical Writing, Digital Arts, Microsoft Office Specialist, Video Editing, IT Marketing, and Hackathon competitions.
The students bagged awards from the video editing and hackathon competitions. The team for the Video Editing Competition is Richard Jr Miguel, Marcus Bruno, Moses Jamel Alfonso, Mike Francis Vengazo, Jan Harry Madrona, Coach: Sir Ryan Bermoza. They won the Championship for this category, besting the 12 participating SUCs.
On the other hand, the Blockchain Hackathon Programming team CobraBytes consists of Leah Mae Cabayao, Cherry Mae Santos, Jhomar Candelario, Richard Allen Gabor, and Coach Sir Amir Ledesma. The team bagged the 1st Runner-up out of the 7 participating SUCs.
They presented "CLSU Tokenized Educational Credits," a system that offers a secure, transparent, and efficient solution utilizing blockchain technology that transforms academic achievements into achievable quests, earning students unique digital tokens that can be exchanged into educational material and premium accounts that can be used within the university. This project is more than a technological innovation; it's a paradigm shift toward a secure, transparent, and student-centric educational ecosystem.
